ABOUT ME
I’m a bilingual video journalist with experience creating short- to mid-form news videos for digital, linear and OTT platforms. In January 2025, I launched In The Hyphen, a YouTube channel dedicated to covering U.S. Latinos with deeply researched, visually rich stories. Prior to that, I spent five years at NBCUniversal, where I was manager of digital video with NBCUniversal Local (NBC New York, NBC Los Angeles, Telemundo 52, NBC Sports Bay Area, etc.) I am also an adjunct instructor of visual journalism at the University of Southern California. I am excited by the opportunities news gives us to connect with audiences in meaningful ways. I have experience blending social strategy, journalism and design to produce engaging cross-platform content for millennial and Gen Z audiences. Prior to NBCU, I was at ATTN: and Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Circa. In 2023, I was named to Broadcasting & Cable’s L.A. TV Week 40 Under 40. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism. I’m from Chicago and live in Los Angeles.

How many degrees of separation are there between all of us? In NBCLX’s new series, “Connect the Dots,” we try to answer that question. Four reporters each draw the names of three random items and must then go on a journalistic scavenger hunt of sorts to find out how they are related.

A Journey Down the Rabbit Hole of Segmented Sleep
Why do we humans strive to get eight hours of sleep a night? I never really questioned it when my parents held it as the golden standard. It’s something I took as a fact of life. But did humans always sleep that way? Turns out, we didn’t. Our obsession with getting seven to nine hours of uninterrupted sleep is a fairly recent development.
PERO LIKE, IS SPANGLISH THE LANGUAGE OF THE FUTURE?
As prevalent as Spanglish is already, there are many who believe we’ll only see that influence expand as generations of Latinx youth grow up, start families and enter the workforce. As the share of U.S. Latinos who speak Spanish at home drops and those who speak English grows, could Spanglish one day overtake Spanish as the second-most spoken language in the U.S.?
